Disappearing Tags?

As I was reviewing nominations I noticed that some Sherlock tags disappeared after I approved them. I believe I was able to manually edit them all in from memory, but I don't know if this happened with any other fandoms. If you notice a missing tag, let me know and I'll edit the tagset.

Art Fever Round 3 Tentative Schedule

Hello, everyone! I hope the new year has been good to all of you!

This year has started off very busy for me (in a good way) so I've decided to push the early-year round down a bit. I'm still going back and forth on the length of nominations and sign-ups. In the first round, one week wasn't enough but in the second round, two weeks felt excessive. I'm going to try something in between for this round.

The tentative schedule for round 3 is:

Nominations: Feb 1st - 10th
Sign-Ups: Feb 13th - 22nd
Assignments Due: Mar 31st
Art Reveals: Apr 8th
Artist Reveals: Apr 15th

Two other things:
(1) Last round someone mentioned that they felt that giving a full week of extensions wasn't fair to everyone else in the exchange. This round I'm going to shorten the extension period to 3 days past the due date. I hope this will still give people who need more time a chance while also making things a little fairer.

(2) I'm going to hold off on the prompt fest because I think we just don't have the numbers to sustain one right now.

The artists are now revealed on AO3! You can post your art anywhere you'd like now and if you post to tumblr make "artfever" one of your first five tags and I'll reblog it.

Thank you, everyone, for participating! :D I know some of you had to default, but hopefully Art Fever wasn't a negative experience for you. If there's anything that you think I should change in the fest or in my modding, please let me know.

I hope the rest of the year and the new year are good to all of you. See you next round!

I saw someone ask for a different event if it's okay to post art onto other platforms during an exchange. For Art Fever, the answer is yes, but not until after artists are revealed on AO3. That will be Nov 20th at 10 PM CST.

After the 20th, you may post your art wherever you'd like and if you post onto Tumblr you can tag "artfeverfest" and I'll reblog it. Or you can submit it to the blog directly if you prefer.

I've noticed that there seems to be an inconsistency on AO3. There are 9 mystery works in the collection but only 7 assignments are showing up as complete. If you submitted a work and haven't received any hits please contact me. The mystery has been solved: they're treats.

I noticed that some of the sign-ups are missing DNWs. This isn't against the rules but it would be a good idea to add a list of what you don't want for the exchange. DNWs are the only thing that your artist is required to stick to from your optional details and if you don't have any listed it looks like you're up for body fluids, noncon, character death, flower crowns, and anything else that your artist thinks up. If you're really fine with anything then adding "DNWs: None" would be clearer for your artist.

Letter Post

Last round, some people said they weren't sure how to write art prompts. There's no wrong way to go about it but some general tips are:

List Do Not Wants and Likes (art tropes, fan tropes, kinks, plots, art styles (do you want canon-style?), typography, etc)

Mention what you like about a character/ship/fandom (this can help your artist brainstorm their own ideas)

Short actions can make great prompts ("X throws a sleep over", "X and Y [do thing] together", "Z is comforting X", etc)

AUs can work well too ("Vampire AU", "Y as a Junji Ito character", "this canon as an anime")

Describe scenes in detail

If you picked something from Original Works or Crossover Fandom, it can be helpful if you explain what drew you to that tag. For instance, if you picked "A Tree" what sort of tree are you interested in seeing? An inked birch? Something Yggdrasil-like? A man-eating tree?

Fic prompts can be good for art too but it can be helpful to single out a few images from a story idea that you'd be interested in seeing in case your artist doesn't have time to make comics/animations

If you ask for banners, wallpapers, icons, reaction images, pixels, or transparents make sure to specify what sizes you would need

Remember that your requests can be as long or as short as you want.
